I created an item in a specialized grid that I use to write & used the HTML pane to write an article

I switched off to another grid to take notes on a telephone call & returned to continue my writing efforts

I closed the writing grid & re-opened it and all was well but the icon I use to illustrate that HTML data exists wasn't displayed

I considered the possibility that it was one of those odd refresh issues & closed the file, closed the program, reloaded everything in reverse order

Oooops. The HTML data was gone.

Fortunately I had a copy outside IQ so I copied it to the HTML pane

and did a file save

The icon popped up as expected

closing & re-opening program reloaded HTML content

So, I conclude that user has to manually FILE > SAVE in HTML pane for data that isn't clipped

Is that right?

Has it always been that way?

Stuff in the HTML pane is saved by default as soon as you move on to another item or close the grid (it may also be saved at timed intervals - I dont know about that).

I suspect it's nothing to do with this but just in case, is this selected:

(HTML) Menu: File > Auto-Save

normally if it's deselected you will get prompted to save but it was a little wonky for me a while back (but it was wonky more in the other direction - prompting to save when no changes had been made)...

It is selected by default but I think a recent update changed the setting on my install (or maybe in one of my unaware moments I turned it off)

I looked back & it is in auto-save mode so I wonder if this isn't something that Pierre ought to look at?

I don't think there are any particular circumstances I can point to when this occurred.
