for my PM work I like to link and access specific docs from with IQ via the HTML pane, i.e. Plan, Budget, Schedule.  MS Office linked docs always snap into place quickly and smartly, but I'm having trouble with linked pdf docs, sometimes they show, most times they don't, such that viewing linked pdf docs from within the HTML pane is dysfunctional as a quick-access veiwing and reference tool.  IQ version 0.9.25K and Acrobat version 9.4.2.  thanks to anybody with some ideas.  Doug

Hi Doug,

I also frequently use the HTML pane to view pdfs, but I haven't had the trouble you describe (I had some issue with linking, as discussed here: http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/2253). Sometimes I forget to lock in the particular document as I switch items... is it anything like that? Also, from what I can gather, the html pane browses pdfs in the same way as your internet explorer. Do you have any issues with viewing pdfs in that? I know that my version of Acrobat (8.x) doesn't work very well with my Windows 7 browsers, so I usually use a reader for plugin browsing (ie. pdfxchange).

Thom, I just discoved this morning that in my case pdf docs from within HTML first need to be refreshed, from within HTML via Menu > View > Refresh, and then all is functionally and consistantly well.  thanks for your thoughts, Doug
