Does anyone think this would be a useful option?

Example: I have a view which sucks up all items which are associated with a security field.
So.... looking at this view, one gets a quick, alphabetized list of items w user names, passwords, etc
If it were somehow locked this would not be possible unless left un-attended for a period of time (could have a timer attached to it)

I realize someone familiar w IQ could find themselves locked out of this view & still be able to reconstruct another view if the lock is based on the grid name but I'm thinking that maybe the security field could be 'locked' somehow, i.e. request a password.

Thoughts, comments, ideas, suggestions?

Unless the person is really computer illiterate, I don't think that would be very a efficient way as one could just do a search (ctrl-F) for whatever they're looking for and see it in the search grid, without even knowing anything about how to create a grid etc.

What would be more efficient is to be able to have a per item privacy (OR/AND encryption) protection system (like the "locked" field, we could have a special "Private" Boolean field) . IQ wouldn't display any private item unless the user enters a password.

E.g.:
1- User opens grid
2- IQ finds out that some displayed items are "private" and shows a dialog : "There are some private items displayed in this grid. Enter password to see private items"
3- User enters password and grid opens showing (or not) the private items.

- One drawback is that this isn't strong protection... But at least it prevents easy and quick access to private stuff.
- Another drawback is that the dialog brings the user's attention to the fact that some data is private and might give the incentive to search for a way to bypass the system. However, that would probably mean fooling around with SQL queries and maybe cracking IQ's password which might be easy in certain cases (English alphabet passwords), but not all.
