When I open an existing InfoQube window, often I get the hourglass symbol and the window fades out for 20-30 seconds during which I can do nothing.

Happens a dozen times a day, at least, and is annoying especially when i just want to add a quick note and be done with it.

Doesn't happen every time.  Happens very occasionally with other programs but it's nearly always InfoQube.

Maybe related to Windows 10 and/or InfoQube backups?  Also maybe related to my new drives which seem to go to sleep when not in use and require time to wake up before they're accessible.

Anyone else experience this?

I use an SSD for programs but keep data on regular drives.  I could move everything to the SSD but it's still going to back up to a regular drive.

Last time I changed drives I ran into problems with losing info in my doc panes (paths didn't adjust and had to be re-created manually).  I probably did something wrong but regardless, I don't want to get into that again unless I have to.

I just fiddled with the Windows 10 sleep settings for drives.  Maybe that'll do it.

Pierre,

I did change Windows power settings, including increasing time before drives go to sleep.  Will see if that fixes it. (thanks for the link.  I already read that article and few others and made all the changes that I think could affect the buffering).

I ran into a lot of problems last time I switched drives and am reluctant to get into it again.  That's all.

How do I ?
