Hi !

It has been long in the making (with 30 pre-release versions...), but v0.9.25 is finally out.

Pierre, I'm sure finally getting 9.25 out was like having a baby; I guess your wife can tell you. ;-)

Anyway, I have questions about a few of the additions that I've tried. (they all work)

1. word wrap from search is only when search results goes to grid, rather than in search display. is this intentional, correct? Also FYI, right click (context menu) on any item in any column produces only "dial"

2. ItemHTMLWordCount field seems to update only after program is closed re-opened. Is that by design or necessity or did I miss something? Also what use are ItemHTML height, size, textsize

3. I'm assuming item favorite is a simple field assignment (easier to be found later) & there is no other icon or color or event to visualize favorites.

4. Is ItemHomeGrid is to be populated manually by drop down menu? Or is there something else here?

I noticed that the word count appears and is refreshed when you save in the HTML pane.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a function to globally save all HTML content anyway ? I have a big bunch of items which haven't been re-saved since some changes have been applied (a loooong time ago to MHT indexing, etc.).

I like the favorite feature! Actrually it's not just that because when you click on a favorite it goes to the item's "home grid".

So as soon as you identify an item as a favorite, it'll choose the current opened grid (where you selected the item) as it's home grid.

I guess that you could select a whole grid's worth of items and then check the favorite field so that their home grid field is filled with the right grid.

Note that this home grid can be changed in the future (deselecting and reselecting the favorite field for an item (or using the favorite icon).

This is really exciting ! Downloading right away...

I'm slowly looking at all the new features etc. And I'll report on those.

I found a little bug : multiline (WordWrap) in fields doesn't work anymore. Anybody else ?

[EDIT : it works... but it needs to be reactivated in each grid. Setting it in the field management dialog doesn't work]

Yes, field wordwrap setting is being phased out. It is simple to right-click and set the wordwrap for the column

Cool... Yes, a per grid implementation of wordwrap for each field seems a better choice. Thanks!

Re-numbering is great. Works well and is nicely implemented. Thanks.

The import new feature (selection of inbox grid or current grid) is a nice addition.

It took me about an hour to test everything. It seems to work really well ! Congratulations, Pierre.

I'm really happy about the "Restore grid sort on refresh (if the sortbar is visible)" . But I think I found 3 little bugs in relation to that :

1- If I select an item and click on sort sub-items ascending/descending, sub items are slowly absorbed by the parent...

2- If I put the # column in the sort bar, I'm not able to get rid of it. (I just dragged it there, nothing seemed tohappened but appeared in the sort bar nevertheless... And I couldn't get rid of it afterwards)

3- If I refresh the grid and "group item by sort columns" is ON, I get a cascade of yellow folders.

2 other things :

- ShownInCalendar : I can't find it. As it been postponed ?

- Maybe should the Multiline option (in the field management ) be removed to not confuse users.

It has been renamed: ItemInCalendar.

Dialogue window flashes when I copy a cell

Create a user defined ordered hierarchy with no sorts whatsoever

Something happens only with the Appointment field, only n my DB. Not in a sample one :

1- in the properties pane

2- appointment field

3- I press F2 to see the mini calendar for the appointment field and select a date...

4- Focus moves automatically to the grid... And I can't edit the appointment field.

I have to press F4 to move focus back to the properties pane (it's not clickable), and use my mouse to have the appointment mini calendar appear.

Weird.

Ok... I found the problem : when an icon is displayed beside the field name in the properties pane (e.g. : DueDate <img>error_trans</img>), it creates some kind of conflict.

Favorites does not work with the Calendar. This is now fixed (v0.9.25a)

Favorites (and tagged items) combined with Map View is really cool, as it allows for easy navigation between items, all within the Map View

a) Bug?

Each time I hit the space key in the grid (i.e. to trigger a todo field), the properties pane opens. Would be nice if this could be fixed..

b) Favorites

Regarding favorites, I really like the implementation. Just a number of things that came upon my mind using the new feature:

The grid tree should be opened as necessary if favorite item is currently closed. Otherwise, in my database the focus changes to the homegrid, but no item is highlighted and you do not know where you are.
Focus should be changed to the favorite item in grid even if current position is different. Currently you have to scroll up/down to look for the highlighted favorite item.
It should be possible to manually change the position of the favorites in the favorite menu
add column in favorite menu: homegrid (so you immediately know where you jump to

I can't reproduce your bug, Thorsten. Could it be that you activated some special mode on your keyboard ?

thanks for the replies! Actually, I usually copy the user data from older versions to the newer versions to keep the layout definitions. This time, this seems to have provoked some "bugs". After doing a fresh reinstall everything is fine.

Does this mean that 9.25a is published as latest build?

Yes, this is the well-known (and reported) conditional format display bug.

I've improved it in v0.9.25a, but it is still not perfect.
