Don't know what else to say, except that it's consistent.

Hi,

To debug this issue, I would need more info:
  1. OS
  2. IE version
  3. PDF viewer and version
  4. Can you view the document in IE correctly
  5. Is this an issue for all PDF documents or only some
  6. Non-PDF documents have this issue or not

I did and image restore of my drive C: back to 4/24/11, and now I no longer have the HTML pane undocking or resizing problem.

I have Windows automatic updates on, and I have been getting a lot of Windows 7 updates the past few days.

Before re-imaging my drive C back to 4/24/11: I tried IQ 25R and it failed too. After doing the re-imaging 25R worked okay too.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

Good thinking, Dave. I've also been updating pretty much as soon as Microsoft pushes them out. Couldn't say which round might be the culprit: there were a whole bunch on the 27th and on the 14th.

Yes, and IE9 seems to be the problem. When I re-installed it the problem recurred.

From what I can tell, KB2511250 and KB2506928 are relevant to IE9, while KB2492386 may be also be significant in general. Just as a first stab.

FYI,

After my restore, I had the updates listed below to re-install. I installed each one...one at a time and checked the HTML Pane resizing/undocking problem after each update. Things worked fine until I installed IE9, the I ran into the resizing/undocking hang (crash).

I can confirm that unistalling the IE9 update fixes the problem!

Strange. I wonder what's in that "update".

Just to be clear: by 'update' I'm referring to IE9 itself (it's delivered as an update to Win 7). Uninstalling the 'update' just means Windows 7 reverts to IE8.

There was a serious issue with IE9, a while back, when it was in beta. IIRC, user Jan had it and had to uninstall. We hoped that this was linked to the beta status... it seems that it isn't

I've downloaded the latest portable 9.25S, and tried it out on both my desktop and netbook, and I'm still having the problem on both. First line below is desktop, second line is netbook. The main difference is the Pdf app: Acrobat on the desktop and PdfXchange on the netbook. Also, in my vid I had two grids opened, but it happens with just one open as well.

1. OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1 [edit: 64-bit]
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
2. IE 9.0.8112.16421
    same
3. Acrobat Pro 8.2.6
    PdfXchange Viewer 2.5
4. Yes, I can view the document in IE fine.
5. As far as I know (it happens on every one I've tried).
6. I tried it with a .txt file of 1KB, and had the same result (freeze when resized).

Thanks, Thom.

I recently downloaded and installed IE 9 on my Win 7 x64 laptop (Thinkpad T400).

Editing documents in Sharepoint (rich HTML editor) results in the browser hanging (screen turns white, cursor to egg timer).

This IE9 “bug” is causing issues with lots of HTML editing softwares using the same component, including some popular e-mail clients (even from Microsoft, some users reported).

Therefore, it is very likely that Microsoft will correct it with some IE9 update. But our suggestion at present is not to install IE9, or revert back to IE8 if you are encountering similar issues with your HTML editors or e-mail clients (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9)

I had substantially the same experience as ThomR and Dave:  On my Windows 7 machine (but never my Windows XP machine), InfoQube had always been freezing when I tried to move or resize the HTML panel.  Until seeing the Internet Explorer 9 warning that was posted along the top of the download table around the time of the release of InfoQube version 0.9.25T, I'd had no idea that IE 9 was the cause of the problem.  As soon as I uninstalled IE9, the problem went away.
