Not 100% sure but I would bet it was HOIST

I haven't been able to reproduce that problem yet. I'd need some steps.
Hoist doesn't seem to be the problem -- at least here.
 
There was another thread about it at some point but I can't find it at the moment. I think that there were some details about the field's options content, etc.

In this case it turned out to be a field option <format> problem. Removing format error corrected the displayed date.

So, if I understand well, in this present case, there's no formatting involved. So I guess I'll wait for other clues.

I understood that Jan found out that the problem was incorrect syntax in the <format>  tag of the field options.
