While entering or editing in grid, my cursor disappears
I am unable to set background color in grid cell (maybe I'm missing a setting of some sort since I have been away from IQ for a while)
Beta 31 on win 8.1 64bit
Thanks

I'm not missing anything; the two functions are not working here.

[/quote]the only way to highlight a gridcell that I know of, is conditional formatting.
Do you mean that?
or
do you mean highlighting the whole row?

when it comes to reporting, you can be a real minimalist sometimes Jan

Just kidding.  I was trying to implement color the way it was described in the node that Pierre referenced. If I remember correctly, changing a color on assignment is governed by equation. Thanks.

If you're talking about "conditional formatting",  it works here.
Note that conditional formatting only works if the  columns/fields the formats depend on are present in the grid. This has drawbacks but also advantages as you can have various formatting depending on the displayed columns, for different grids.

Does it work in the sample IQBase ?

I don't have a sample dB. But to clarify, I am NOT talking about conditional formatting. I'm talking about formatting via context menu. It does nothing here.

that one is easy:
Menu: File>New>>New IQbase (with sample data)

Formatting color via context menu works in sample dB. Where should I look for the problem in my dB?

Could be one of:
  1. Check Tools > Options > This Database > General > Item backcolor field. Perhaps this is referring to a non-existent field...
  2. Grid > Properties > Options > Item color applies to fields: Clear field list if any

You're right, Armando. It was a misleading comment based on what I was asking. Sorry about that.
