While entering or editing in grid, my cursor disappears

I am unable to set background color in grid cell (maybe I'm missing a setting of some sort since I have been away from IQ for a while)

Beta 31 on win 8.1 64bit

Just kidding. I was trying to implement color the way it was described in the node that Pierre referenced. If I remember correctly, changing a color on assignment is governed by equation. Thanks.

If you're talking about "conditional formatting", it works here.

Note that conditional formatting only works if the columns/fields the formats depend on are present in the grid. This has drawbacks but also advantages as you can have various formatting depending on the displayed columns, for different grids.

I don't have a sample dB. But to clarify, I am NOT talking about conditional formatting. I'm talking about formatting via context menu. It does nothing here.

that one is easy:

Menu: File>New>>New IQbase (with sample data)

Could be one of:

Check Tools > Options > This Database > General > Item backcolor field. Perhaps this is referring to a non-existent field...
Grid > Properties > Options > Item color applies to fields: Clear field list if any
