No matter what way I try to clip content, it is not showing up in HTML pane
I have:
- closed, restarted, repaired, compacted, re-installed program.
- installed to different location
- I have tried clipping via <win>C, select <CTRL>C+<Win>N + <CTRL>V, Clip content icon
- I have tried w & w/o 'adding clipping info' selected
- I have not tried as MHT because I don't want MHT
In all cases,IQ has created a URL to the data but has not transferred data to the HTML pane.
After this problem is resolved, I will have to go back & re-do about 3 hours work of clipping & cataloging work from today
This may be a local problem but I suggest anyone clipping, check as you go along, check HTML pane

Updated 2010/10/04 10:24: IE9beta un-installed via control panel, windows instructions. This automatically re-installs IE8. Cold system boot to clear the cob webs. As a result I can now drag / resize HTML panel (from another thread) but I still cannot clip to it. I tested clip from IE8 into IQ (I am a FF user) w same result, i.e. clipped data does not make it into the HTML pane. Maybe there is an IE9 remnant in the register but I wouldn't know what to search for.
Updated 2010/10/05 09:28: I am now able to take notes in HTML pane that stick, i.e. that are saved. I can drag, i.e. resize HTML pane. I can clip successfully to HTML pane. This is what I did to test & what I think. On a Win7 machine, IQ installation -- where one installs it -- may be an issue under certain circumstances. What those circumstances are, I don't know. But I conclude -- at least from my experience -- that the safest place to install the portable version is on C:\ , not in C:\programs86 or in any other sub-directory. I understand that the portable version is supposed to be completely contained but I know for a fact that Win7 did affect at least one file -- newHTML -- by overwriting it with each re-start. Not so in my current installation. Here then were the steps I took to arrive at this conclusion:
Tests conducted w my working dB
