Steps :

Configuration :

1- Create 2 text fields (or just change the fields names + not forgetting the auto-assign equation in point 2a and 2b) : ProjetNomH and ProjetNom

2- In the  field management dialog

a- Configure ProjetNomH : Set inheritance (value --> sub item) to checked/ON ,  but leave "delete on item move" unchecked.
b- Configure ProjetNom :  set the the auto-assign equation to :

AME:ProjetNomH=ProjetNom

Testing :

3- In a grid where ProjetNom and ProjetNomH fields are visible as columns : Create an item and a few subitems.

4- in the TLI, enter some string in ProjetNom -- normally, if everything goes well, ProjetNomH should get populated with exactly the same values, down to the last item of the hierarchy.

5- Now Delete the content of the TLI -- normally, if everything goes well, ProjetNomH's content should get deleted down to the last item of the hierarchy.

6-Now, still in the TLI, re-enter some string in ProjetNom. Here, ProjetNomH gets populated with exactly the same values... But only the TLI. Sub items remain empty, and they shouldn't.

Is this a bug ? I'm asking because it could be that this behaviour was set as it is for a reason, originally.

Confirmation please.

Thank you.

Note that there is another unresolved inheritance bug pending -- issue might be related :

0961 Inheritance bug with "can delete on item move" 1Bugmajor

I'm bumping this thread as I don't think I really received feedback for it. There's not issue in Mantis for it (and the issue mentioned in one of the previous posts is related, but not the same at all)

Thanks for looking/confirming it. I can create a Mantis issue when confirmed.
