Is there any word on whether an image or blob field type will be added to InfoQube?

I do not want to store my ID photos in the HTML pane (or as hyperlinks to image files on the disk). Also, I'd like the opportunity to embed a small file within each IQ record.

Just wondering if this is on the horizon at all.

Thanks -- Glen

Hi Glen,
Sorry for the late answer. To be honest, I don't know.
I think your post fell between the cracks.
Let's see if Pierre has something to say about it.

Hi Glen,

Sorry for the delay in responding...

The database engine does support it, but I no plans to include it in IQ for the moment.

This apparently is not what you want, but for the record, what could fairly easily be done, is to enable the display of images for a field. You would enter the path of the image file in a text field cell (say, field ContactPhoto) and the image would be displayed in the cell. Drag-drop from Explorer could make this a quick and easy process.

The current grid does support images in grid cells, however, it would look better using another grid component, as shown here:

Pierre, how is the first png accomplished. I'd like to use it for cataloging the flowers in my gardens. Thanks.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough... it is not implemented, but it could eventually.

(but do you know that the item field can display images ? Drag-drop an image file, do View >> Show pictures )

Pierre - would it be possible to implement that on a per grid basis ?

And I think one needs to refresh the grid.

Thank you Pierre. I guess I did know about item field. I'll have to try to construct something for the use I mentioned to see if it's practical. If so I'll post it somewhere so others can improve upon it.  (Thanks Armando)
