Full sync between an IQBase and your mobile device is planned, but in waiting, let us consider this setup:
  1. An IQBase in a Dropbox folder
  2. A mobile device with the Dropbox app (IPhone, IPad, BB, Android)
  3. Whenever a grid is closed (or through a command) an HTML Export equivalent file is generated (filename=grid name)
This means that the content of each grid would be available as an HTML file (with expand/collapse buttons, columns, optional HTML content) and accessible using the Dropbox app on your mobile

One could get local copy of
  1. Appointments
  2. Tasks
  3. Contacts
  4. and the content of all other grids
And since the Dropbox app can store local copies of online files, no need to be connected to view the information

Interesting isn't ?
p.s. This is really easy to implement

Yes, interesting ! I actually tried to do something similar already with an ODC file. But... It didn,t work as expected !

Could a similar solution, using ODBC or ODC files be made to work... + read/write protocol ? That would be amazing, but I guess, not possible.

In any case, your proposed solution, would be a great "in between" solution (i.e. :  waiting for full sync).
