I started up a book page -- link to nonexistent node ID 2094 -- for considerations of when to use the grid vs the html, and combinations, including pane vs MHT. I'm presently doing some fall cleanup, and converting many of my smaller html pane notes over to the grid, and will probably convert mht's that don't contain pictures also to the grid.

It has been discussed several times over the years, but is not easy to find on a forum search.

I could use help with links to existing forum discussions, and comments

Hi Keith ! Good to see you around ! :-)

My rule of thumb is :  If I need to play with the structure of a document (e.g. : my own writings) or use various pieces for different purposes, I put the content in the grid. Otherwise, I think it's better in the HTML pane -- it keeps the formatting better (that's sometimes important for external references,  stuff clipped from the web, images, etc.), and it keeps the DB tidier.

I posted stuff about writing a play in the grid 2 years ago, but I haven't searched for it... I 'm running out of time today. Maybe tomorrow or during the weekend.

Good luck !
