Right now, in the properties pane parents section (parent hierarchy), when you click on a parent that can't be shown in current grid, the scratch pane will open, which is fine. However, there are many situations where you'd just want to see it that item (and its subs) in the current grid.

"Right click on parent in properties pane : context menu could offer to hoist in current grid" would be a nice solution IMO.

(Of course, one can try to get there by hoisting up one level at a time... But this can take time if the hierarchy is deep, or would just be impossible depending on the hierarchical  structure.)

Opinions?

Nobody thinks it would be useful ? One other thing that could be useful : to be able to select multiple parents (still in the parent section of the properties pane) and hoist them in the current grid. Even better... Don't you think ?...

Especially when you want to see all the "contexts" in which an item is displayed and play with the various hierarchies...

Opinions ?
