(As discussed on the phone)

MANTIS
1122HTML panes should automatically close when there's a mouse click anywhere in the grid, w/out putting any item/field in edit mode  New featurefeaturenew 2011-04-18 19:45

This doesn't seem to be easy to do. I can prevent editing, but not item focus change.

What I could do, is use the right-click: right-click on the grid to move the focus back there (and of course, not show the context menu)

A good compromize ?

In dualpane mode when pane #1 has focus - and you then rightclick on an item in pane #2, you do not get the context menu. Repeatedly right-clicking (even on different items) makes no difference - has no effect.
you have to left click and then right-click in order to get the item context menu.

I planned to make a thread about this soon - can do still - or add to mantis, but I thought it might be relevant here.

And what if left click triggered right click ? But I guess this involves hacks.

(Tom : yes, I guess the issue you mention could be looked at at the same time. Otherwise : mantis I guess. :) )
