Some program wanted IE 9 installed on my computer and before I could blink, IE 9 was installed...and I could not remember how to remove it. It took me an hour to find the post that showed me how to remove IE 9. Furthermore, new IQ users are not going to know that they will have problems with IQ if IE 9 is installed...and I suspect many new IQ users will already have IE 9 installed.

So, I suggest that someone add something to the Getting Started area in the IQ User Manual about the IE 9 problem and state that at some point IQ will no longer rely on IE to function. Then the manual should have a link to the Warning: http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/2377

I see the warning is on the IQ download page, but I missed it there. So, I think it should be in the User Manual too.

hi Dave

could also be emphasised more on the download page - I know it is fairly clear, but I suspect a lot of people are like me - just look for the download link, and off

[Idle Curiosity] - anyone know what is actually wrong with IE9? I've heard a lot of complaints of stuff being broken cause of IE9 - in various apps. Are MS ever going to fix it...

e.g. from donationcoder:

Currently MS is pushing IE9, however when installed, it breaks the native MS Fax printer because of its treatment of preview.js.

Why? Hell-if-I-Know. But I have the IE9 update blocked for all machines located at clients that use the native MS Fax server. Because that's the only way to keep them running right now.

For the record:

The IE9 issue may have nothing to do with the HTML editor afterall... but with the Docking pane component.

I'm testing an updated version and will issue an update if it works well !

Thanks for your patience

The IE9 Issue is solved in v0.9.25W2
