Hi Pierre,
I was thinking about how I work and wondering why there isn't a program that works the way I want to. My wish list of a program would have the following attributes from these programs:
- Ecco: Info Qube does a great job of representing this program.
- The Brain: a very quick linking and graphical interface program that gives me a visual representation of the data set. I would love to be able to set up categories and have different templates for those categories that I can fill in the information and then quickly link it to different categories. This program is similar to a mind map but the graphic interface gives me a blank canvas to put down my thoughts organicly instead of having to organize them first.
- Time To: This is a great time management tool for my daily to do lists that provides exceptional tools such as duration, gap time, advanced reoccurring, time left, etc, and all of this is displayed on a calendar. The biggest weakest link of this program is its ability to be set up for projects. It is awesome for daily schedules but useless for planning projects and timing them.
So this is how I work, I start from a blank canvas (The brain) adding ideas and coming up with links, I then flesh those ideas out (Ecco) with measurable results that I can track, and then I keep a log of how I'm progressing (Time To) to make sure I'm on schedule.
Info Qube is the closest software that I have found to being able to combine these ideas, it has portions of all of these great programs in it, if it could be tweaked to include some of the more advanced features that these programs excel at, it would make this program insanely great.
thanks
