I would like to disconnect some clones. Is there an attribute that can be turned off? I currently cut and paste as a new item but this is awkward.

Also, is there an easy way to identify clones? Is there some field that can be displayed?

Thank you.

hi Jon:
re the first question,  you are looking at the same item, so the answer is no. What you call a 'clone' is an item with multiple parents - it's not that different to the way an item can be seen in different grids.

Having to cut/paste and then delete the copied item from current parent - sounds awkward all right...

I dont know if number of parents can be identified via fields (not currently I dont think - unless there's a hidden one that Pierre can offer)

Tom is correct. There is no such thing as a clone in IQ. Nor is there a need for them. Items can have multiple parents, with one of these marked as the Main Parent.

In 0.9.26PreRel11, I've added the possibility to remove all parent links but one. This should make what you want much easier

FYI, there are 2 fields that could be useful for you: nbChildren and nbParents

Excellent! This is the option I was hoping for. If I understand correctly, this would remove all parents except the one currently displayed.
