Hi Pierre,
 
Since it's possible to open different search results (from the quick search) in new/different search grids, I think it would be very helpful be able to do the same with the scratch grid. (I.e. Opening various results/links in multiple scratch grids.)
 
Use case:
- When working in the scratch grid (or even from the properties pane) and clicking on a link: opening a new scratch grid instead of refreshing the current one (losing the current displayed items) would often be useful.
 
Also, a dialog asking "Open in a new scratch grid?" (or something along those lines) would allow the user to choose the preferred behaviour.

I was going to post about that and remembered I already did.
 
So, yes, almost everyday, I feel that it'd be good to at least be offered the choice to open a new scratch grid instead of always reusing/recycling the same one. I'm sure it'd be easy to achieve and the reward would be instantaneous.

In v0.9.26PreRel48, you can hold the Shift key to open in a new Scratch grid

Would it be possible to have a dedicated shortcut for the show item in NEW scratch grid? The shift options works fine and it can be automated with ahk script I guess, however, it would be much better if there is a straighter way to do this.

In v75:
  • New: Item: Show in a New Scratch Grid command. Not visible by default. Customize your menus to show it. Assign it  a keyboard shortcut if you wish.
