Hi Pierre:

I don't know if this is something I have overlooked. If so, could you please tell me how to accomplish this?

Can you enable URIs in IQ? This would be allow me to reference specific entries in a database through a link in another program.

Thanks.

Jon

Not implemented yet, but easy to do...

2 options:
  1. Fast-loading viewer with a button to open IQ
  2. Regular IQ
Any preferences ?

Suggestion :

- if IQ is open : regular IQ
- if IQ isn't opened : viewer

If it's hard/long to implement viewer, than IQ will do . ;-)

Regular IQ. My reasoning is that upon invoking the URI, most of the time I would need to do something in IQ. I suppose a compromise would be a dialogue, although this would be an unwelcome extra step. Perhaps an option under program preferences?

Just another thought. I use the portable version, and you have encouraged users to do the same. Am I mistaken, but doesn't a registry entry need to be added in order for a URI to work?

True, but it is simple to automate the process. Windows will prompt you for admin rights to make the changes.
IQ already does this for (1) the IE clipper extension and (2) the Outlook2007 URI protocol fix (-- link to nonexistent node ID 1555 --)
