Would anyone be interested in being able to to duplicate column values in different items, spreadsheet style?  e.g highlight a column value, press Ctrl+C, then use Shift+arrows to highllight multiple cells in that coumn, then press Ctrl+V to duplicate that value in those cells?

I just realized it can be done another way - highlight all the items to which you want the value to be duplicated, then enter the value into that column/field in the properties pane or a form.

Still I wonder if it might be a nice addition to be able to do it spreadsheet-style as i have described above.

This can't be done ? I probably don't understand what you explained as I think I'm doing exactly that -- i.e. "highlight a column value, press Ctrl+C, then use Shift+arrows to highllight multiple cells in that coumn, then press Ctrl+V to duplicate that value in those cells"

Armando you are right.  I just tried it again.  I added a test number column to my grid.  Entered a number in one cell in this column, used Ctrl+C to copy it.  Used Shift+arrows to highlight other cells in the same column.  Pressed Ctrl+V and the copied number value was copied to all the cells I had highlighted.

I must have done it wrong yesterday when I tried it.

I tried to select non-contiguous cells in the same column using Ctrl+Up, Ctrl+Down, Ctrl+Click - that didn't work.

anyway thanks for your reply Armando, I learned that Shift+arrow keys does work to select multiple cells in same column.

Ctrl+click should work, but it's sometimes a bit tricky : to be able to ctrl+click you need to click when the mouse cursor appears as an arrow. Avoid clicking when the "caret" appears.

thanks for the tip Armando, Ctrl+Click works when I do it that way.  Like you say, a bit tricky though.

It's probably hard to find the balance between the various clicks functions, allowing clicks to do both : edit mode, selection mode.

Maybe one thing Pierre could try, if feasible : when cells aren't in "edit mode", pressing ctrl or shift would always make clicks to select and never to edit.

That way, it would be very easy to multiple select without going into "edit mode". But maybe grids have limitations I'm not aware of.
