To anyone who wonders why I persist with the use of Microsoft Word as an editor and word processor: there are many reasons. For example, as of now, there is no better way of composing and managing text which includes outlines – a feature which most InfoQube users love. LibreOffice Write does not implement outlining.

Ideally, I would compose more of my text in InfoQube itself. There have been lots of discussions in the past about making InfoQube a better tool for people who do a lot of writing; for example:
Calling all writers -- concerning support for writers / authors
OLE linking and embedding -- concerning OLE server and client
I think F-11 is still weird -- concerning the purchase of a new text processing component - identifies the component, which is to be found at www.wpcubed.com/pdf/products/textcontrol/ and whose price is not outlandish.

At the time of these discussions, some InfoQube users argued against this being a priority.

Also at that time, this forum in general and the developer Pierre in particular used Mantis as the mechanism for identifying priorities in IQ development. Its use was onerous, but it did at least give us some visibility of the roadmap for IQ. I love the way in which Pierre has moved recently to lots of quick releases with limited new functionality in each – the pace of development has really speeded up and that is great. But it would also be nice to know what is planned and when: a roadmap.
