While IQ's startup (THANKS!) is much quicker, the app feels a bit sluggisher than last version... Or was it 47? or 49x?

 

Where I specifically notice that : creating items is slower [see next post for details], moving from row to row is more CPU intensive. This last one can be experienced in a sample DB : 

 

- moving from row to row (pressing arrow repeatedly) sends CPU between 9-17% (no panes are open) depending on the type of grid (gantt grid being more CPU intensive for some reasons).

 

My laptop isn't a speed demon, but it ain't slow either (specs at the end). 9-17% on a 2.6-3ghz CPU seems too much for such a task.

 

Item creation is trickier to test and I absolutely can't always test performance stuff (with a stopwatch etc.) to prove my point. 

 

I think it would also be good to review how row/column/autoassign equations are working in the background as some things definitely feel slow, even for quite simple tasks (the slowness can only be measured accurately on 100s of items of course). Nothing is ever a huge problem when performed on only 1 item. This has been reported a few times here over the last 5 years --  could search later.

 

Anyway, if others have the patience to do some comparisons...
