I use highlighting a lot in my grid notes.  Unfortunately, I have a bad habit of changing my mind about color schemes and end up going back to change highlight colors.

The original highlighting procedure is simple and straightforward using the tool icon.  But how do you change the highlighting color in a simple way?  Right now I'm selecting the text and manually deleting the HTML code before applying the new highlighting.  This is decidedly slow and awkward.  I'm hoping there's a better way.

If you use item colors, then it is as simple as selecting many items and choosing the item color. If in addition you use named colors, then it is even simpler as simply choosing different actual colors for your named color will change the displayed color. Lastly, you can choose a different field for the item color, so a totally different colors can be toggled by switching the item color field.

Now, as this is a case of embedded colors, using codes, then I guess you need search and replace... just ask and I'll work on it

I'm highlighting individual words in grid items.  Suggestion #3 is the one that would most apply but it sounds more complicated than what I'm doing.

ideally, it would work like the HTML pane where you can change highlighting by simply re-selecting the text and click on a new color icon.  To do that, you'd have to have HTML and non-HTML modes in the grid, as you have in the HTML pane.  I think that would be an improvement but wouldn't say it's an urgent requirement.  I do think that having to deal HTML codes is going to put some people off.

Just consider putting it on the wish list for down the road, if it makes sense to you.

2 ways to do that:
  1. Turn on the WYSIWYG editor for that column
  2. Open the pop-up editor (Shift + F2)
HTH !

Thanks, Pierre.  WYSIWYG editor was just what I was looking for.  Another powerful feature to get familiar with.

Great ! It is a bit buggy and will be getting an major overhaul soon. The popup editor is mostly bug free
