V77 is at least 2 times slower (maybe a bit more) for my usual grid operations (already described those operations in similar forum "performance posts" in the last few months so won't repeat uselessly here).

Can't know why it's that slower, but it is and I feel like I'm constantly waiting. (Again : not saying it's slow in an empty database, but slower, relatively speaking, compared to previous versions with myDB.)
I tried to revert to 76, but can't really work with it: some DB ini settings must be different as the UI isn't drawn properly.

Still I was able to load my DB with version 76 and it was clearly faster.**

Thanks in advance for looking at that!

**Has nothing to do with what's going on in the background (killed all apps to test performance, rebooted, restarted IQ, etc.).

Hi Armando,

For a few version pre-V77, I was caching field properties. It was however causing some bugs and I had to turn it off temporarily. I'll look into this soon.

Thanks.

That might be it. But I'm not sure  what the "problem" is. I reinstalled 76, then reinstalled 77, and 77 was faster than before. (And that was after trying a reboot, an IQ restart, a compact, etc.)
I tried to see if some file was getting larger in the user folders (installation folder) as I use IQ -- I thought maybe that could explain why a "fresh" install brings back performance to something speedier. But I didn't find anything.

Right now, performance is acceptable.

Today, marking a task as done (in my complex DB) is taking about 3.5s. It's a loooong time to wait.

I restarted IQ. Same thing.

So I did what I did last time. "Reinstalled" v76, didn't even open IQ afer that, and immediately reinstalled v77 on top of it : I'm now back to 1.5s for the same thing : marking a task as done.

I really don't know what's going on, but it's weird and  I think (will double check tomorrow) it happens everyday.
1- It has nothing to do with other apps (I closed them all like I said),
2- and nothing to do with rebooting windows, etc.

It has to do with something in IQ that seems to make it slow over time, but also something that can't be fixed by restarting it. Only reinstalling it. (Am using the word "install" but I'm using the portable version so it's basically squashing a version with the other)
