The new layout capabilities are incredible!  I think it has addressed about every layout wish I've ever had (and then some) except for one big issue - there is still no way to focus/maximize the HTML pane.  For those of us who do a lot of work there, I think it's just as desirable to be able to maximize the HTML pane as it is to maximize the grid panes (which is possible with the Hide Panes command).  Some possibilities:

- A "hide grids"" command that is the opposite of the "hide panes", leaving only the Panes open?

- A "maximize HTML" pane command?

Thanks

Probably too awkward, but HTML pane as a separate exe that can be alt-tabbed to when 'floating' would be my ideal.

@David, unlcear to me what exactly you mean by maximise?
to cover the IQ window (or full screen), and then [auto]-hide on demand could be good.

EDITs//
IIRC, there used be a key/shortcut that would toggle floating / not-floating HTML pane. I believe it was F11 - anyone else remember?
I also thought that the floating HTML pane remembered it's size, anyone? Not doing so here now anyways.

With HTML pane on auto-hide, one can drag it to make it almost full-size -- if there were a keyboard shortcut to make it hide immediately, that could be another very good way of using it.
Could that be possible Pierre ?  -- or is it already & I dont know about it :-)

F9 used bring focus back to the grids, but doesnt seem to work anymore (?)

In my setup, F12 opens or closes the HTML pane on autohide. (That said -- as I commented at some point in the last few months -- the HTML pane has a tendency to behave in strange ways : appear shortly, then disappear. Not sure why. Probably related to its content loading?)

F9 to bring focus back to grid workspace, has either been fixed, or was just broken in specific situations. Working now anyways ;-)
It's a helpful one, especially now that we can navigate the docked panels via keyboard.

"@David, unlcear to me what exactly you mean by maximize?"

Tom, I would like the opposite of the Hide Panes command.  Basically a "hide workspace" command that hides the "main grids", leaves all panes open, and resizes only the HTML pane to fill the extra area left by removing the workspace.

I prefer that to a maximize in a separate window command, though that would certainly be a nice second option, or an entirely acceptable primary option if it's more practical to carry out than my suggestion above.

Ìn v86, I fixed the F11 action when in a pane. It correctly toggles floating. So if the HTML pane is made large while floating, this will effectively toggle between a small HTML pane and a large one

F11 now works to toggle floating of HTML pane.
But it no longer works to show hide all panels -- it seems to me it cannot do both.
Wouldn't there need to be two different hotkeys?

I said "thank you" because I assumed I was missing something, but I was confused by that as well .  I'd think there has to be two different keys.

Tom, in the 86a version Pierre just released Shift+F11 opens the HTML pane in its own window and pressing it again redocks it, it works great.  I had to reset my custom keyboard commands to get it to work.
