Hi,

Is it possible to add "done checkbox" only for certain items, and not for all items on the grid?

The default behavior when "Grid > Done Checkbox" is ON adds check boxes for every item in the grid, as shown in the snapshot below.

For instance, I'd like to add the Done Checkbox to only children under certain parent, as shown below.

Thank you,

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

It is technically possible but not implemented. I could see this as the item heading property, which could be expanded to be one of:
  1. Heading
  2. Normal
  3. Checklist
If others are interested, it is possible...

Thanks for the reply Pierre. You have my vote already!
A grid in InfoQube stores plenty of items, and I can see very few cases in my use that I would set "done checkboxes" for every item.
So, many items that are not "tasks" end up receiving the checkbox, and because of the cluttering of checkboxes, you don't know anymore what items are tasks to be checked and what aren't.

Raising this thread from the dead...

Was wondering if checkboxes for selected items (possibly but not necessarily related to their 'Done' state) is possible by now?

Also, what about quick formatting item (like Ecco's 'Text Touch-Ups')? Say, to set an item, to a certain font, font size, underlined etc. quickly?

Many thanks!

Hi all !

I see 3 ways to implement this:

  1. As a Checklist type (in addition to Heading and Normal)
  2. As a property of the parent item > Show Checkbox to sub-items
  3. As a property of a "Todo" field: Show Checkbox to items that have a Todo value

Of the 3, which one(s) should be implemented ? Which would be easiest to use ?

Good news indeed that this may become a feature!

If 1 were to work on any number of items anywhere in the outline, I'd be happy with it and wouldn't see a need for 2 as 1 seems more flexible. But maybe there is a downside to 1 that I don't see as I never use outline styles... Would it always have to be the same outline level with option 1? With both of these, would checking the box toggle Done? If yes, could this be made optional?

Personally, I'd also prefer 1 over 3 as there'd be no need for an extra column.

I guess I should just use a column value plus conditional formatting to achieve my 'Text Touchups'?
