I'd like to get a SUM total on each of these values. I tried using the Parent and = SUM as well as the pivot table.

When I try the pivot table it tells me I need to install office etc. I have office 365 installed and all modules.

Thanks

Hi John,

There are quite a few ways to do this (depending on the actual use-case):

  1. Select the values, right-click and select Info
  2. If there is a common parent, set the column equation to =SUM(
  3. If you have MS Office installed, follow the instruction to install the OWC components and use IQ's built-in Pivot Table (see InfoQube Program Install and Set-up)
  4. Copy / paste or Export to Excel
  5. Create an ODC file (Grid > External Link ODC) and open the link with Excel (as an Excel table or as part of an Excel pivot table) (see 7. Live Links to IQ Grids from Word and Excel)

Cool. So, I found a way to get the totals by making a PARENT record. I can't seem to group by a field now though. Is there a way to do this?

See attachment.

You can have both but using different displays (so not at the same time)

To group, ensure that the parent item is not shown, otherwise it gets in the way of grouping. There are many ways to achieve this. Do not hesitate to ask how (hoist filter, flat list view, changing the grid source and ensuring context parents are off, etc)
