Hyperlinking to items in other InfoQube files isn't working for me.

This happened before and I was given info on installing a protocol.  My link to that thread is now dead and I can't find it with forum search nor in the manual.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

perhaps in the install steps: direct link

--------------

4. Installing the IQ:// URI Protocol

InfoQube has support for universal links (a.k.a URI protocol links) in both direction (from other apps to IQ and from IQ to other apps).

To link to specific IQ items and views, the following key is added to the registry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ]
@="URL:InfoQube Folders"
"URL Protocol"=""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ\DefaultIcon]
@="\"C:\\IQAPPFolder\\InfoQubeClipper.exe\""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ\shell]
@="open"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ\shell\open]
@=""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IQ\shell\open\command]
@="\"C:\\IQAPPFolder\\InfoQubeClipper.exe\" /select %1"

The setup package includes a utility to make these changes automatically. Run IQURIProtocolInstall.exe to install the IQ:// protocol.

It's back to not working again.  It shows code gibberish instead of the hyperlink in the URL field.  Happens whether I drag the link in, or copy/paste the address manually.

Ran the protocol exe again and it fixed it, but only for a short while.  Ran it a second time and this time it didn't work.

Re-started the file and that fixed it but a few hours later, it's back to not working.

Update: problem extended to normal copy/paste of text (no links involved).  Getting text like this:

瑩浥⁳獶匠扵瑩浥⁳湩朠楲⁤捛畯摬戠⁥敫⁹牯慧楮敺嵲

I rebooted the computer and upgraded to 120Pre5.  Problem has cleared up again for now.

Hi Wayne,

Please report back if the problem returns. I'm considering handling the IQ:// protocol myself which would ensure the IQ to IQ links always work, even the users do not execute the IQ protocol batch file

How do I ?
