I know there are the open / close icons to the left of items already but personally, I'd appreciate a second visual indication at the other end that there are child items currently not visible. Would it be possible to add something like a '+' character or '...' at the end of the text displayed for an item when it is the parent of a folded subtree?

I think it would make outlines a good deal more readable

Many thanks!

Hi Left,

Not really possible. You could however create a new Y/N smart field, name it something like ItemHasSubs and show it to the right of the Item column

Thanks, Pierre. Thought as much; using a column to indicate this would require the eye to travel back and forth just like with the initial indicator, which would defeat the purpose of just being able to "read on" so to speak.

I'm already using the hack of showing the nbChildren column to the right of the visible grid area and formatting items as underlined if nbChildren > 0 but was hoping for a more elegant solution. As I do not use underlining anywhere else, it sort of works.
