Any ideas on the best settings for Dropbox sync and EmailtoIQ auto-fetch?

Problem: Laptop has Option 2.3.3 - Auto Import Emails turned off.  I clicked the little email icon at bottom right to do a fetch.  Emails from the Gmail account i set up were fetched, then apparently deleted from that Gmail account.  Then I get a message that I need to update my file from the Dropbox sync folder.  I think I have Option 2.3.3 turned ON on the desktop.  So I think the Desktop did a fetch, and by that time the emails previously fetched by the laptop were gone from Gmail.  So when I accept the update from the Sync folder, and the database is reloaded, it no longer contains the items previously created by emailtoiq on the laptop.  Not sure whether I'll have two conflicted sndb files now.

So I'm thinking the best option to avoid this kind of situation is to turn off 2.3.3 Auto Import Emails on all computers, and just rely on manual emailtoiq fetches.  At least that may be the simplest thing to understand!  Unless somebody else has a brilliant idea that hasn't come to me.

Hi Jim,

I tend to leave auto-fetch off on all machines. But if the situation you describe happens, you can always do Tools > Check EmailToIQ Now and enter a suitable number of days to re-import

FYI: the emails are not deleted, just marked as "read". so another option is to selectively mark some emails as "unread" and IQ will fetch them

HTH!
