up/down to exit grid cell edit mode and move to prev/next item

Submitted by jimspoon on 2024/02/12 10:07

On my desktop, if a grid cell is in edit mode, and the cursor is on the top/bottom line of the grid cell text, up/down will exit edit mode and the prev/next item will be highlighted (not put in edit mode though).

On my laptop, up/down on the top/bottom line of the cell being edited has no effect.  The current grid cell remains in Edit mode and the cursor remains at the same location.

Both desktop and laptop are set to edit in non-WYSIWYG mode.

I thought this might be controlled by an option in Tools > Options, but I didn't find such an option.

Has anyone created a 'default' colour palette for dark mode?

Has anyone created a 'default' color / colour palette for dark mode?

I see each file now has an extra set of named colours for dark mode. But they are currently the same as for regular mode. I'm presuming text remains a light colour no matter what the highlight colour is, so I'm wondering if anyone has done the work to figure out a functional selection of colours that are dark enough to display the item text properly? And willing to share your choices here?

Many thanks to anyone willing to share.

Just goes to show you.

For quite a long time I have been locked into Firefox  as my default browser.

The reason being I was stuck with it was that it had one very useful add-on called Bookmarkshome. This addon didn't do anything too remarkable except to take your bookmarks (and I have a lot) and create a home page with bookmark links neatly arranged.

Sync with Evernote: Usage, alternatives

Submitted by Pierre_Admin on 2023/12/11 13:35

Hi IQ Users!

IQ has had Evernote sync for 3 years now. Rich text only at first, then Tags sync was added. Image sync is still in development.

Two weeks ago, EN announced that their Free plan was being phased out (limited to just 50 notes!). This could significantly impact IQ users.

What alternatives, if any, would you consider? Obsidian naturally comes to mind... anything else? Logseq perhaps? anything better?

Please comment!

zombie IQ not responding (after wakeup from sleep?)

Submitted by jimspoon on 2023/09/03 22:45

This is a follow up to my "can't close welcome.sndb" post awhile back.  My problem is that I'll come back to my laptop and find that my IQ instance isn't responding.  I've discovered it's not just "welcome.sndb" that does this; it also happens with my "main.sndb" instance when it's the only instance running.  I call it a zombie, because the taskbar icon is still present, the infoqube.exe process is still appears in "Process Explorer".  The window is entirely unresponsive.  The X button will still turn red if i hover over it, but if I click it, nothing happens, not even an "infoqube is not r

grids not being re-opened after a sync update

Just recently started happening - after I get prompted that there is a new version of the file in the sync folder (I'm using OneDrive), and selecting to copy and load that file, the file opens but the grids that were opened before the update do not get reopened.  Only the Home Page gets opened.  Running 122h.

Is there anything out there

Well I tried 'em all. From Todoist to EssentialPIM and beyond. They just don't cut it.

I'm sure many of you guys have had this 'problem' Is there any program for android-Windows that comes to close to IQ or ECCO. I'm using Google keep which works great (and Pierre  has promised a Keep-IQ link RSN)  but Keep is just a glorified note taker. Google tasks is an anemic app w-a-y under-powered. Note- .I can't use Evernote due to corporate policy.
