Usually (95% of the time), when I use the search window, it's to quickly find a recently created item. Hence I always have the ID sorting reversed -- but I have to click on the column each time I invoke the window.

 

This default could be changed... But if it was changed, it might not be to everybody's liking. So why not have the search window remember the different sorting orders ?
