Until the calendar introduction, I haven't had t use the AdrsBook before. When I open the AdrsBook grid I get the error message "Error opening grid. Check grid source criteria.' I was able to enter names after clicking okay, but in closing and reopening the grid the names disappeared. I selected all items in the source box and didn't get any entries. Just the error message again.

Couldn't find anything explaining the AdrsBook how is the time line to the right of the address book entries used?

Can the opened grids be placed along the bottom of IQ? Couldn't find a preference for it.

Thanks
Al

This occurs because the grid refers to a non-existant field or has some syntax error. Please provide me with the source, filter, sort (Alt-S to see the source bar) of the grid. Check that referenced fields exist.

n.b. Now, renaming a field propagates to grid columns, but this wasn't always the case. So if you haven't opened that grid in a long-long time, it could also be a grid column that references a non-existant field.

Hi Pierre

the source is "AddressBook"
the filter is "lastcallnbdays > 15 or followup", I had turned the filter off
the sort is "lastcallnbdays desc"

  1. Turn off the filter, sort on the source bar
  2. Turn off the DateFilter, AlphaFilter
  3. Check to make sure you have a field called AddressBook
  4. If still a problem, do a Tools>>Database>>Repair
  5. Remove all columns except the Item column

I did a repair, still have same problem. When you said remove columns, did you mean uncheck displayed columns?

yes (or right-click on the column and select Hide)

Hi Pierre

Want to follow up the my Address Book freeze problem. Any other ideas? By the way love your little dog icon, the calendar too!

Try hiding the Gantt and all columns except the Item column. And see if it then works.

How about if you create a new grid and set its source to AddressBook?

The new grid with AddressBook as source seems to work okay. So there is nothing special about the address book other than its name? The calendar or other grids don't reference the address book for anything? Should I just delete the orginial address book?

Currently there is nothing special about the Adressbook grid.

FMI, I would apreciate if you cleaned up the IQBase and send it to me, so I can see what the issue is

Thanks

Thanks for your IQBase Al,

The AdrsBook grid has the field Lead as source, which is non-existent.

I changed it to AddressBook and it works just fine.
