I'm being lazy here but how would I (can I)  set up the "Journal Date" field so that when I entered the day of the week  (but not the children of the day of the week), IQ would enter the short format date seen in the "Journal Date" column? I've tried various things but none seem to work.

In Journal Date field I added Properties > Default Value = "=int(now())"   -- no quotation marks

To make sure this value did not apply to children of Item, I unchecked   Inheritance > Value --> sub-items (altho you could not do this & automatically assign journal date to sub-items if you wish)

 

The children of the Week Day are all my daily activities, thoughts, events, i.e. my log / diary

any item can be searched by CreationDate, Journal Date or content

Also contained in this grid are columns for what I call GTD items that fall into

 

Apptdate / Time, assigned -> calendar & (optionally an Appt Grid)

DateDue, assigned -> calendar & DateDue Grid

Pending -> changes color / appears in Pending Grid

Foloup -> changes color / appears in Foloup Grid

Priority -> changes color / appears in Priority Grid

 

Any item that specifically involves someone in my AddressBook is linked to that person / company (but I'm working on this to make it simpler)
