Sometimes, I'll expand a hierarchy and items will appear empty -- However, the data is displayed in the properties pane.
 
Here's an example (I know, it's not very telling, but these empty items should have something in them) :
 
 
A grid refresh solves the problem.
 
I have no idea what so ever why that happens. I tried to reproduce the problem for the last 30 min. without any success...
But it's scary and downright dangerous -- I retyped data over one of these empty items, thinking it was empty and lost my previous entry.
 
that looks like some GDI Objects ressources saturation, but I don't think it is... IQ was "consuming" about 2340 GDI objects (it's a lot, but not enough to make my system choke). Or a grid component problem ?? Possible hints :  When that happened, recently, I was in "hoisting" mode, "Full hierarchy", and "save item state" was ON. However "sort criteria applies to sub items" was OFF.

Yes, I have experienced this sporadically. I cannot determine a pattern, nor did I try. My excuse is that when confronted with graphical anomalies, I have grown accustomed to either refreshing or if necessary, restarting IQ. We have all had to do this from the start, and the lack of auto-refresh is a problem. My worry is that IQ currently relys on user diligence to figure out that something is not right annd then to check and re-check. I know this will get sorted out, but still...

I don't know how to agree most emphatically but I do.  To me this is more important than some of the more esoteric bugs that present themselves. Sure they all have to be fixed but auto-refresh? Doesn't this affect everyone using the product multiple times daily? That fact alone would indicate some kind of priority.

I couldn't agree more. However this is not an autorefresh problem. It's probably a grid component problem.
 
The most pressing bugs are always the ones that affect data in one way or another : data structure, data content, data deletion, etc.

I'd just like to add a note on "esoteric bugs". Sometimes, bugs seem esoteric. However, if they affect data, they're not "esoteric", but rather exoteric. What can seem esoteric maybe, is their technical description.

It happened to me 5 minutes ago, so I looked for the issue... Re-reading it, I realized that it's never been addressed.

Sometimes (more often than I'd like too : several times a day), I'll expand a hierarchy, and all subs will appear as empty (but they aren't -- see the properties pane in the screenshot). I don't know why. It's always been like that for the last year I believe.
 
 
I'm now accustomed to this and I always double check when some item appears empty -- BUT it's still potentially very dangerous, not to mention the... Aesthetic aspect...

it never happens to me (or if it did it's so long ago I've forgotten) but it did happen just today:
I expanded an item and the sub-items were all blank. I had just mistakenly 'over-pasted' an item and had pressed Ctrl+Z to undo. Then expanded -
I dont know if that was related...
 

(I have the feeling that maybe it has to do with conditional formatting -- I use that feature a lot. But I can't be sure.,,)

I dont have *any* conditional formatting - but then, as said, it hasn't happened here before

this still happens to me many many times a day.
 
Pierre : is the cause known ? Do you experience it ? Is it fixable ?
