I don't know why it happens sometimes and not others, but I suspect that some settings are kept only until the gantt pane is shown by the grid -- and then if some item hours (taskactend-start) don't match with  the  "non working hours" being set in the management dialog, settings are erased.

In any case, it's only one of the problems linked to the grid management window (like : some changes don't stick when they are made in the grid management dialog and the modified grid is opened in the background). All these need too be sorted out as they are super time consuming.

Some confirmation for these grid management dialog problems should be confirmed.

Comments

This thread is probably now partly useless since the "non-working hours" problem has been talked about elsewhere.

But... There are other problems, like :

  • Gantt button and sub-menu : values don't stick after a refresh if these have been set in the "manage grid" dialog.

There might be other cases where the toolbars settings affecting grids and the grid management aren't always in perfect sync.

Like :

  • Changing the "auto-size column" option from grid management dialog works if the modified grid is opened... But the grid needs to be closed and reopened. Something that doesn't need to be done when the change is made from the grid menu.

And there are these other problems.

  • When dragging and dropping the grid names -- going downwards -- in the grid list, they are not positioned where the separator indicates. (This is also a problem in the form editor when repositioning fields I think, and maybe elsewhere. I can check later...)

  • "New view" at the bottom (to create a new grid) should be "New grid" to not confuse the new user.

  • Manage grid and field management dialogs should function in more similar ways (grid creation --> field creation ; Auto save ;  etc.)

If you want I can add these in Mantis for later reference. (None of these are severe bugs and so they aren't priorities... At least not for me. They are just annoying -- especially those with the changes that don't stick...)
