The reason I'm asking is that the process of using the date toolbar is slower than it should...
I find it time consuming to  :

1- activate the date toolbar,
2-  wait for my grid to refresh according to the current (usually obsolete) date toolbar settings,
3- adjust the settings,
4- and then reapply the setting (hit refresh button on the date toolbar).

Rarely am I always using the same settings over and over, and so the first few seconds of waiting for the grid refresh etc. makes the whole thing a bit cumbersome.

Instead the process could be

1- activate the date toolbar (no refreshing, no waiting)
2- adjust the settings,
4- apply the setting (hit refresh button on the date toolbar).

The same should be applied to the alphanumeric toolbar (and other filtering toolbars)

Of course, an option could be set as to "automatically apply the setting on toolbar activation" or Not... But it seems maybe overly complicated to me.

Opinions ?

Not overly complicate to have option.
My reasoning: once user has set this option s/he should know what's going to happen when that filter is employed
I vote for option based on Armando's good idea

Thanks for your opinions. So I'll add the request to Mantis later.

One other thing about this toolbar :

Seems that it doesn't remember last settings too well. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't and reverts to a condition where there's no field in the field box. Anybody else ?

There's something else about the work flow also that makes me favour the source bar text box filter instead of the date filter : when I go back and forth between the date toolbar and the filter text box, I find it cumbersome as it goes like that :

1- activate the date toolbar
2- deactivate the source bar filter text box (because it's usually "in the way", filter wise)
3- make changes to the date toolbar settings and refresh
(Do my stuff)
4- reactivate the source bar filter text box
5- de-activate the date toolbar

Instead of just using the source bar filter text box :

1- change the source bar filter text box content (typing it from scratch or just from the drop down menu) and refresh
(Do my stuff)
2- rechange the filter to what I was previously doing and refresh...

Much quicker. I wonder how to obtain a similar concise work flow using the date toolbar....

Now in Mantis
