[Discuss] 12.10 Navigating in IQ using keyboard shortcuts

Armando,
I quote you from -- link to nonexistent node ID 1724 -- :
(Note that it is also possible to "Show all" sub items under an item, regardless the filter -- alt+"right-click" will do it, but it's possible to configure a shortcut key to accomplish that action. No default shortcut key as been set yet.)

I dont understand the bit 'alt+"right-click" will do it' -
Right-click being mouse but Alt+ ? do you mean the apps key that brings up the context menu - nope, just double-checked AFAIK there's no key to bring up the context menu (?)

I've changed it to the following - I should wait and see what you say but I'm going away for a week tomorrow (yaay)

~ It is also possible to "Show all" sub items under an item, regardless the filter. This can be accessed via the item's context menu (sorry, apps key doesnt work to bring that up). It's possible to configure a shortcut key for this. (Again, see -- link to nonexistent node ID 145 --)

Slightly off-topic:

I had an idea a while back:
a book page (where everyone can edit) dedicated to requests + suggestions for default shortcut keys.

e.g. as mentioned above (AFAIK) there's no key to bring up the item context menu

What do you all think?
Would it automatically get included in the help file then ? Would that be bad ?

I guess we could. But at the same time, users just ask for them when they need it. The last time I opened a thread concerning IQ's UI for filtering, we got only one post... Keith's.

The "apps" key works for me; however, the default Windows Shift+F10 does not, which is odd.

Yes it would, but that would be no big deal. It can always be moved out later if not wanted or needed.

That's odd Keith, it doesnt work for me even in a fresh test install with sample file, and it never has worked before for me (have tried before in test installs)

Anyone else? - does the apps key work for you to bring up the item context menu in the grid ? (it does work here with other programmes)

I'm sorry, I meant to say

[...]alt+"left-click" on the item bullet will do it  [...]

And... Have a nice holiday Tom !!! (well, if this trip away from home is for holiday... )

I corrected that - see also my other post/reply to Keith, querying the apps key

PS I had a great week thanks!
