For those interested in using IQ in a muItiple user netorked setting, is there any plan to offer:

1. The ability to see "what's new" when you log into a database?  That is, any new items that have been created by other users.

2. When entering a new item, the ability to alert other users (within IQ, Not via email) of the existence of the new item for review or comment etc.

The reason that I ask these questions is that in my experience, without the ability to perform these types of notifications, IQ can be the most powerful multi-user PIM/database product ever developed, but it will all be for naught as far as enabling teams to be productive.  Having worked with several different software products, assuming the product itself is decent, it seems to me that a good notification system is *the difference* in whether it is useful for managing projects.  Otherwise you just have a bunch of people running in different directions.

Ideally, the notication options would be prety robust, and the admin could decide what autoomatically triggers a notification, and users could also manually trigger notifications.

Thanks!

Both of these could be added. The (eventually) coming disconnected mode (à la Ecco) will ease the implementation of these. (1) can be done right now (or nearly so):
  1. In a grid, set the filter to ItemOwner <> "YourName" and,
  2. Show and configure the DateFilter toolbar (much like the Journal grid)
  3. Select the date and date range in the DateFilter toolbar and all new items will be shown
