I have deleted some databases from the IQ data folder. One of the deleted databases was the last file opened by IQ. The program freezes at the splash screen and has to be terminated through TM.

I've dealt with this before by manually edit the option.ini file in the Users folder:

(Your IQ folder\Users\YourUserName\options.ini

change

<OpenLastFileOnStartup>-1</OpenLastFileOnStartup>

to:

<OpenLastFileOnStartup>0</OpenLastFileOnStartup>

Jon's situation should default to ignoring the non-existent file.
Also I'd suggest being able to have someway to clear the recently-used list.

Hi Keith:

Yes, I ended up editing the options file and got IQ running again. The reason I raised this is because other programs ignore or  notify you of the non-existent file, then proceed to load. This should be addressed. I like your suggestion about clearing the MRU list.

Which version are you using ?

When I try it, I get this dialog and the program resumes just fine :

I'm using portable version I on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. I have not tested this under 7, but I can reproduce the problem under Vista.

The program freezes at the splash screen and never shows the dialogue you reference. I am now finding that editing the  MRU section does not cure the problem 100% of the time. I experimented again by deleting the last opened file, deleted the MRU reference (it worked the first time) and IQ froze in the same way as initially described. The only cure was deleting the contents of the program folder (all files) and re-installing.
