The current preview/print from the menu throws away 40% of the paper, breaking about half way down the page. And it doesn't allow you to change the title at the top.
 
Is there any control that will let me fill up the entire page? And maybe eliminate the header?

Are you referring to the grid print or the HTML pane print?
  1. The Grid print preview has a setup button, where you can control margins. By default it is 1in on all sides. I don't get 40% of wasted space...
  2. The HTML print, uses the IE print preview engine (depends on the IE version installed). It also has a setup button and for IE7, UI to use the mouse to adjust margins
