Field Properties Adjustments

Hello,

Thank you Pierre for you quick responses, it shows how dedicated you are to your software!

Currently I have the to-do's grid full of entry's that won't be attended to for months or years.  I tried to set up a this week and next week grid based off the corresponding fields but it's not working properly.
In the this week column two similar items are checked even though on is a year out.

I really like the to do grid, but because of volume etc. I need to have a this week and next week grid that I can view on a weekly basis.

I tried to set up a row equation for the thisweek as =isToday(DueDate)+7 the rules were already set to A:NextWeek=

It seems like the Today column in the to-do's grid is not working as well.

Also, can you create equation that affect column not row...or is this filtering?

I tried to duplicate the fianance grid, and in the balance column it always show 0 or negatives.  I tried to go through the welcome part and it made it more confusing.
Another problem is the parent sum of the other colomn won't go back to zero if I delete the number.  I have to put a zero in the colomn for it to go back, even if I hit refresh.

Thank you

Troy

 Hi Troy,

I don't think there is enough info here for us to know the problem. Keep in find that a given field can be updated automatically in several ways - Row Equations, Auto-Assignment Rules, Hierarchy Equations, and maybe others I'm not remembering :).

As background, check out the documentation on equations. You may have to read it a couple times to get it to sync in (and I say that even though I helped write a lot of it :), but there is a lot info in there - Field Management Dialog - Equations. Note that Hierarchy Equations are the "column equations" you were asking about, but they only work from child to parent - not with siblings like Excel.

Also, when in the Field Properties dialog if you click on the arrow in the upper left there is a "Export all equations to a text file". Sharing that will give folks here a better complete picture of what is going on.
