Hi IQ Users,

In this next release:

New: Gantt: Task links context menu
New: Gantt: New task dependencies: SS, FF, SF.
Can use context menu or use the following syntax for the NextTaskID field: NextID1|XY, NextID2|XY|DL1,
where XY is one of FS (default), SS, FF, or SF.
Optional DL1 parameter adds a fixed delay between tasks and overrides the NextTaskDelay field value
New: Grid and Gantt: Added system field NextTaskDelay to specify the delay between tasks (see 2. Task Dependencies)
New: Grid: Next Task Actions supports field values (see 2. Task Dependencies)
New: Setting to specify the table cell resizing hot spot : Tools > Options > Program Settings > Other > HTML Pane Table resizing hot spot size (pixels)
Fixed: Properties Pane: Editing values in the All Fields section no longer causes the pane to scroll to the top (see Properties pane)
Fixed: Database > Repair should not require 2 clicks to close dialog (see Database repair)
Fixed: Grid: Click on the lower half of the item did not start editing
Fixed: Grid: [Bug] Manually adding file link deletes cell text
Fixed: Restore previous layout broken here in pre-rel 29/a
Fixed: Fast Search: Showing Favorites or Tagged items could cause IQ to go in an endless loop
Removed HTML Pane: View > Zoom (In, Out, Reset) when editing. This feature was too buggy on some IE versions

The fixes seem to be effectively fixed.

A couple things

Thanks. I tried to use it in an existing Gantt, but I'm not sure about how to use it -- doen't seem to have any effect. (e.g. delete doesn,t delete)

Could be related to fields I use in the Gantt . TaskActStart, TaskActEnd, TaskDuration, Task%Complete

The syntax works but I can't get the context menu to have any effect. (I see it but it doesn't do anything)

Still haven't got the chance to test the ones below. Will try later.

Oups... it worked at one point in the development...

A last minute change broke it. Fixed in v0.9.26PreRel31

While we're talking about gantt charts, why am I back in the '50's when I create a new gantt? Also when I enter the TaskStart date and the TaskEnd date (say 2014-08-02 to 2014-08-10), the entire task begins and ends on 2014-08-10. The only way I can see to control this is with TaskDuration. How are dependencies assigned? Can I assign dependencies by using the mouse?

Setting TaskStart then TaskEnd works here
To create a link, press shift and click on the start bar and drag down to the end bar. To create links, Task Links must be visible. Ensure that the Gantt > Task Links is checked
To change the link type (FS, FF, etc), click on the link and use the context menu or edit directly the NextTaskID field (context menu is not working in v0.9.26PreRel30)

On #2, the dates are synchronized here. That is, if you set the date for one, the other will be set for the same date. I can only change this using duration. If row equations and auto assignment are set to off, then I can set the dates separately, but the duration field is blank.

OK, you must have an older file. Row equations have been removed from TaskEnd and TaskStart, as they are no longer required. Please remove them

I laughed at that. Yes, I do have an older file - I've been using IQ for well over 5 years now. While I originally approached IQ very tentatively (and duplicated all my work in Ecco for a very long time), I find that the IQ:Ecco ratio is probably now around 75:25. Why not 100:0? Still some rough edges, useability issues, printing difficulties and bugs that make me uneasy. BUT, we are getting there!
