A Help System Button and/or Wizard is needed for CSV, Tab-delimited, spreadsheet, and all Grid Import operations. 
 
I am trying to import a tab-delimited file.  I have not set up a "import field mapping file" yet. 
 
If my fields to be imported are not already defined, I cannot finish the import of those fields.  I must cancel the operation and set up the fields and try again. 
 
The "Import Step 2 : Field Mapping" dialog box needs to be able to just enter new fields to be imported, perhaps by putting them into bracks, e.g., [Hours_Est_Labor] and IQ will add this new field to the list, and allow the "Save as an import field mapping file" button to work.  This is not the case now. 
 
Right now I have to back out, set up all missing fields in the Field Properties Grid, and then go back and select them one by one.  This is a very time consuming process.

Agreed !
For the record, no need to back out to create the fields.
You can open the Field Properties dialog with the Import dialog open, and add all the required fields (with the correct types).
