Hi Jon,

 

The icon and bold is shown to provide visual cue of the type of window (grid, calendar, etc). Also, there was an issue when showing date / alpha filters on the same line as the menu bar, as the height was different. With the icon, they now have the same height and produces no flicker switching windows.

 

The other issue you raised is now fixed.
