For the first time today I decided to try the "edit in Microsoft Word" option in the HTML pane.  But once I edit anything in Word, then for that item the Word icon (right next to edit with blocknote) disappears.  Why?  How do I open it again in Word?  Is this a bug?

The Word icon still shows up for all items I have not edited in Word.

I was really excited to use this feature as I'm never comfortable with the formatting options in the HTML pane, I'm just too programmed to use standard formatting options.

Thanks

Pierre, any answer on this one?  I'm starting to use the HTML pane a lot more and I'd really like to be able to do all my formatting in Word.

Thanks

Hi David,

Sorry for the delay. It was easy to reproduce this issue. It seems that the icon is disabled for MHT documents, for no good reason.
Fixed and included in v0.9.26PreRel55

HTH !

For the first time, I would also like to exploit the .MHT file capability in InfoQube. I have experienced the same phenomenon as David H, in that the Word icon has now disappeared. But I am having more general problems. If I paste content from Microsoft Word into the InfoQube HTML window, nothing appears. The pane is blank. A .MHT file has been produced and this can be opened in Microsoft Word and the pasted content is visible. I have attempted to read the manual pages on this subject. These manual pages appear at http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/64. This material is hopelessly out of date; it describes what to do under Windows XP. A search on Windows forums indicates a complex mess involving registry fixes just to get Microsoft Word to act as the editor in a browse window, which I assume is what is required in InfoQube. In any event, this whole approach is unlikely to work well in Windows 10 where the default browser is no longer Internet Explorer.

Please, Pierre, can you provide advice as to how to get Microsoft Word to work as the MHT editor in InfoQube? And what is your forward plan for rich text editing in Windows 10? Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi Mark,

You're probably referring to "in-place" editing of MHT (and DOC) inside IQ using embedded MS Word. This was never really supported.

What is supported though, and works well, is using MS Word as an external MHT editor. You can, this way, edit multiple items at the same time. The content inside the HTML pane will update when you save the file (IQ monitors the file for changes)

HTH !
