Can someone explain why the following list sorted on the "Seq" number has "LR.049" at the bottom when it should be 2nd from the top? I've checked for extra spaces and verified that the "0" is a zero and not an "oh". I'm fully prepared for it to be something dumb I'm missing.

Well, it says 'Sort by: Seg' at the top, so, it should be correct....

As a workaround:

Try dragging the 'Seq' column-header into the space where it says: 'Drag column header here...'

AFAIK, this method works correctly.

I've tried that, several times. I've refreshed the grid, closed and reopened the file, and re-typed the sequence number. Nothing so far will make it sort in the right order. I don't know if it's a bug or some nuance in the sorting command that I don't understand.

FWIW, the following:

LR.056

LR.049

LR.024

does sort correctly in the sample file here, ascending and descending.

You could also try:

menu: Tools >Database Management >Repair

(I've never had a problem doing that, but always multiple backups in case.)

It's hard to tell, but check the alignment...

I suspect that the items have an extra space at the beginning of each text except for LR.049

That's it. I actually checked for an extra space in the one that was misbehaving but as it turns out it was all the other ones that had the extra space (which is hard to see since they're center aligned).
