You just need to set the cell to be multiline (field properties), I guess.

Jan, technically not word wrap, but you also have the option of creating another line in an item cell in IQ by holding down the shift key while pressing enter, in the same way that you can hold down the alt key while pressing enter in Excel.

@ David, Thx. That did it too but the multiple lines didn't display correctly here, i.e. there was only one line to view multiple lines without a scroll, i.e. useless

I actually use this - e.g. it's helpful in the Address field in Contacts grid (not sure of default setting for that field but it's single line here anyways)
 
The address then is naturally multiple lines but only shows the first 2 lines (cropped top & bottom) - I know the address is there but dont have to let it take up whatever number of lines for the item,
If I want the address I just copy it out
